Job Interview Checklist

March 13, 2007

Having prepared your best for your dream job interview, it would feel pretty bad to miss out something trivial which has the potential to “make or break” your candidacy. There are many things that can cause a serious negative impact in the eyes of your potential employer. Because you should not leave your job search to chance, it is best to have a checklist of things to do and carry to the interview and follow it.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your best foot is put forward. Your preperation will not only shine through on the day of your intereview, but it will show your professionalism to your possible future employer.

General Checklist

1. Do you have a neat haircut and did you shave? 2. Do you have your suit pressed and cleaned? 3. Are your shoes shined?

Checklist of Things to Carry

1. Always have extra copies of your resume 2. Have photocopies of your credentials, including your school certificates and any other certificates of professional training you may have 3. Keep a neat notepad and a good pen 4. A copy of your application with cover letter 5. Your references neatly typed on resume paper 6. Instructions on how to reach the interview location including whom to meet and at what time 7. A list of expected questions and a list of questions you want to ask the interviewer

After you are finished with the above list, you are almost done with your preparation. You should then check the following:

1. Check the directions if you are traveling by car. Also get the car and the spare tire serviced beforehand. 2. If you are traveling by airplane, keep the tickets handy and check the times again 3. Read your resume and cover letter again on your way to the recruiter’s office or at the office. Don’t forget to read the job advertisement again also. 4. Quietly try to recollect your subject knowledge 5. Losing your confidence in the interviewer’s office will immediately remove you from the list of potential candidates. Try to remember how well you have prepared for the interview. 6. Recollect whatever information you have gathered about the organization.

When you get to the interview location, be patient and tell the receptionist or assistant that you have come for the interview. Wait in the lounge if you are asked to. You can strike up small talk with fellow interviewees if there are any. Better still, you can browse through journals or magazines available. These are all parts of showing the interviewer your personality and how it is suited for the job.

Does Any Natural Cure for Head Louse Work?

March 7, 2007

The infection rate for head louse continues to explode around the world with no indication that this epidemic will slow anytime soon. The problem is that kids bring home head lice from the local day care centers or school. This in turn infects at least part of their family and the problem just continues to grow.

Hair Loss – Alopecia Areata
Alopecia areata or spot baldness as it’s also known, occurs when hair is lost in small round spots. It usually occurs on the scalp but can involve other areas of the body as well. It’s an autoimmune disease in that the body attacks the hair follicles. The cause of alopecia areata is unknown but appears to be genetically transmitted.

The Eyes Have It
After the age of 40, eye lids show signs of atrophy; in fact, the truth is that at 40, aging is affecting just more than eye lids. Eye brows are drooping and crows’ feet are becoming apparent. The under eye is showing wear and tear too; deep lines, puffiness, hollowness are all glaring signs of aging.

Wedding Planning – Part IX

February 16, 2007

In this last article in our series on wedding planning we’re going to be covering the big day itself, the day of your wedding.

Well, you’ve finally made it. The day of your wedding. It seemed like this day would never come. Now it’s here. Obviously the actual plans for the day are going to vary from person to person depending on time of ceremony and reception but there are a few things that are pretty constant.

For starters, this is the day when you’ll be getting your hair done. When you arrive at the stylist make sure you go in some beat around clothes. You don’t want to have your hair done in your wedding gown. If you’re the groom, go get a haircut. Again, go in a pair of jeans and an old shirt. After you get home make sure you shower and shave since your haircut will probably have you looking like you’ve been shedding with all the loose hairs all over your neck.

For both the bride and groom, take your time getting dressed. Fortunately for both they’ll have lots of help with this, the groom his best man and the bride her maid of honor. Make sure that after dressing you take a good look in the mirror so that everything is in place.

For the bride, make sure your makeup is applied properly. You don’t want to overdo it here as the last thing you want is for people to think you’re trying out for a part as a circus clown. Less is more.

If everything is going according to plan the transportation to the ceremony should be arriving at your home on schedule.

Have a family member check to make sure that everything that needs to be brought to the ceremony and reception is ready. The last thing you want is for something to be left behind and for someone to have to run back to the house to get it. Especially make sure you bring a change of clothes with you for when you leave for your honeymoon.

When you arrive at the ceremony let the clergyman take things from there. These people have done many weddings and you can be certain that everything will go as planned. You’ll be nervous enough deciding if you really want to go through with this without having to worry about the person conducting the service screwing things up.

After the ceremony itself things will start to get a little crazy. At the reception the photographer is going to want to take a lot of photos and many things are going to seem staged. Sadly, they are. That’s just the way weddings are. Go with it. Have fun with a lot of the cliche stuff. You’ll look back at it someday and laugh.

Most of all, have a good time. This is YOUR day. Hopefully it will be the only wedding you will ever have if you’re one of the fortunate few who actually stays married until death do you part. Take a good look around. Don’t let the day pass you by. Make a mental note of everything that you can. You will be glad that you did this as your wedding day is one that you truly will want to remember. In a world where so much is forgotten so quickly this is one day you will hope to be able to replay in your mind for years to come.

How To Choose A Hairstyle That?s Perfect For You

February 14, 2007

Choosing the perfect hairstyle is just one of those things that elude most women. Sometimes, a gorgeous cut is undermined by the fact that the woman wearing it is too busy to style it properly. Other times, a cut is chosen because of how great it looks on someone else, but ends up looking pathetic on the woman wishing to mimic the style because her hair type and texture is the exact opposite needed to wear the style beautifully.

But not everyone is destined to encountering hairstyle disaster after disaster on their quest for the perfect cut, and neither are you. All it takes is just a little bit of preplanning and consideration to get the perfect hairstyle each and every time you go to the salon. Here are just a few questions that you should ask yourself when changing your style:

? How does the cut or style flatter my face and body shape? Probably the number one mistake that women make when choosing a new style is to choose a style that is unflattering to their features. For example: A swept back style would make a round face look even rounder, but a style that softens up the facial features with a little forward movement can make a round face appear more balanced and oval. Haircuts can also be tailored to draw the eye to your most stunning features and to detract it from those you?d rather hide.

? How much time and effort will I have to put into styling each morning? In today?s hectic-paced world, who has time to burn styling hair? Most of us need a style that is easy to work with and requires little time primping in front of the mirror. Even if you have a style that requires more work, it is likely that you will bypass a majority of the care and maintenance needed for it to look its best on most days. And that could add up to a lot of bad hair days. Instead, choose a style that is easy to work with and compliments your hair?s natural tendencies.

? Will this style work with my hair?s type and texture or work against it? If your hair is limp and straight, choosing a heavily layered style that requires a curling iron or hot rollers every day could get exhausting. Likewise, a sleek, flat style on extremely curly locks could take a lot of effort to maintain. So, try to choose a style that will work with your texture. By doing this, you can have a style that seems to go into place magically with little or no fuss on your part.

? Will this style accommodate my lifestyle? If you have to wear your hair up for your job or if you?re a tomboy who loves to throw on a ball cap, you should consider this before deciding on a hairstyle. After all, who wants to be stuck with a style that they have to curl each and every day when their tendency is to wear it in a pony tail? If you wear your hair up often, be sure to choose a style that will still allow you to do this when the mood or need strikes you.

Choosing the perfect hairstyle does not have to be complicated. Just take a little time to really think about what your needs and wants are, and you should be able to get the style you dream of easily. And the best part is that you won?t regret it once you have it.
